If you follow my blog some time ago, then you know that I like to sew clothes from classic films.
I always felt a weakness for beautiful clothes that appear in movies, so one day I decided that I could wear them too, you can find the suit in January here, here in February , March here.
The last movie I chose was "Rear Window" a wonderful movie by Alfred Hitchcock, and the dress I chose to sew was this, the fabulous Grace Kelly ...
I am aware that Grace Kelly is wearing a party dress fantastic in this scene, the dress has a tight body black V-neck front and back, and her dress has a white skirt with a skirt top organza embroidered with black beads. My version of this dress has some differences with the original, I want to wear this suit out for a walk or dine out and NOT a dress for a special occasion, so I chose to sew a shirt in black stretch fabric from a pattern Burda magazine.
The shirt gave me a lot of trouble, but I think the problem is in the chosen fabric, it's like sewing chewing gum, the fabric stretches all over and was a pain to sew and adjust, I opted to add a strip of 3 cm on the line neckline because it was indecent.
The skirt is a simple circular skirt cut in a thin wool fabric, it's ivory color (I love it) and was very quick and easy sewing it,.... I knew that embroidery with beads was not an option for this skirt, so I painted the fabric with "clusters", I did not use any pattern or drawing set for it, I went to paint in the skirt after I finish sewing it , as I was evolving with the drawing .... fabric paints and a bit of imagination was enough to make the skirt in the final product.

So when the suit was finished, I used this to go to get my husband to his work (it was his birthday), and after some photos, we had a romantic dinner and great fun.
So I'm thinking of restarting this wonderful fun again .... and guess what!!!! .... I have already chosen the next film ....

Beautiful! Very simple and elegant. I don't think that I would be brave enough to paint something once I had it sewn. What if I dropped paint in the wrong spot?

Me inspira tanto leer tu blog, y quisiera ponerme a coser tantas cosas como tu, solo que o no me doy el tiempo o siento que no me saldran las cosas bien.
